HBS Counterbalance Valves

About HBS

Since 1967, HBS has been working on their spirit ‘advangarde technology’ in the hydraulic field. Throughout the years HBS has directed their effort to achieve the best results in quality, reliability and development. Their products are successfully utilized all over the world.

Their Monzambano-based factories cover a surface of 12000 square meters and include the research lab, quality control department and manufacturing department. The company mission is to be more than just manufacturers of hydraulic parts.

HBS Counterbalance Valves

HBS Counterbalance Valves are used with cylinders to safely hold suspended loads and deal with over-running loads. Counterbalance valves can also be used with hydraulic motors and is then commonly called a brake valve.

HBS Counterbalance Valves are fairly similar to pilot-operated check valves. They can both be used to lock fluid in a cylinder in order to prevent drifting. However, a pilot-operated check valve is not able to control an over-running load. Whenever uncontrolled movement can occur from an overrunning load, a HBS Counterbalance Valve should be used.

Load-holding valves such as counterbalance valves offer advantages for systems that use them, making them a rather popular component of hydraulic systems in various sectors. Their main advantages is safety through load control. By automatically regulating the descent of loads and holding equipment steady while lifted, HBS Counterbalance Valves are meant to protect workers in the area.
